Fate works in such funny and incomprehensive ways. Just the other day while I was going out for lunch, I saw my senior coming out from a job interview from my client's. I said fate works in such funny ways because I have wanted to go down to lunch straight, but for no particular reason, I felt like visiting the loo. My senior, on the other hand, was telling me she could have left the interviewer's place earlier, but the interviewer held her back at the last minute. All these leading us to bump into each other at the lift - so coincidentally.

Anyway, she hitched the interview and she's leaving. I've always say I want to leave the audit line after 2-3 years of experience. However, placing myself in my senior's shoes made me realised how great an inertia it takes to leave this place - the place where i've made many good friends, shed many tears, laugh aplenty. The place where i have to come in early so as to find a seat, where i've downed too a many kinder burneo, where i have difficulties finding a printer in good-working condition, where the toilet floods everytime I feel like shitting. Perhaps I'm too much into my comfort zone, I dont feel like going anywhere else. It's at this point I learnt that money is only secondary. It's the people there who makes up the primary element of attaining happiness in your job. No doubt the job sucks, but people there makes you feel that you are not alone and that your job is not that shitty afterall.

Maybe the people i've grown close to starts to leave the firm one by one, I'll comtemplate leaving as well.

Speaking of the inertia to leave the firm, I really applaud people who choose to pursue an entirely different line. I'm not talking of people who joined banks, people who joined MAS, people who decided to become product controller or people who choose to do compliance. But people who left to join the sales line. Personally, I believe meeting the deadline is so much more easier than hitting the sales quota.

Appraisal time is round the corner. While I hope to be among the higher band, I know this is near to impossible after reading the appraisal template. Additionally, my senior manager will be doing my appraisal instead of my senior. This adds on more pressure for me to put on my best behavior for these few weeks to come. Speaking of which, i'm always on my best behavior anyway. hahaha..
